Global Awareness

 

Goal: To develop students’ understanding of their role in an interconnected world and appreciation for a value system of respecting other peoples and cultures.

 

Activities include: 

 

• Global Awareness Month: A designated month for students to learn about other countries and cultures. Each class can choose a country they want to study and research throughout the month on topics such as food, music, history, etc.

 

• Fostering environmental awareness of the country’s natural and national resources, such as the cocoa industry, shea butter industry, etc.

 

• Helping students to identify issues affecting their communities.

 

• Piquing students’ desires to learn and explore foreign languages.
